Mable was born in 1989. She is steady and grand, has a comforting vibration about her. She took our wedding cake six hours north from the SF Bay Area to the Sierra Buttes, winding alongside a creek that cuts in and out of the mountainside. And because it was hot, by the time our cake made it to the presentation table, it was a slippery slod leaning triple deck of white frosted flowers. No matter, we love her all the same although someday we may invest in air conditioning. She is a Ford Bronco, the same Bronco my husband drove in high school, and then in college when we met on the frisbee field, who now drives him a few miles to the bus station for work. Semi-retired but lovely as always, despite her lack of economy, I can't imagine ever letting her go.
Sally is our fresh new legs in the family. A Subaru Outback purchased just 3 days before the birth of our second daughter, she is sprightly and whippy and loves to manhandle a mountainside. She does have air conditioning and passes with flying colors the governments own stringent safety crash tests. She was a conversation between us for many years, the when, not if.
The likes of Mable and Sally is all about the four of us; Bubba, Me - "the Mom", Little M or Bugsy (5), and Emmy (1 1/2) who live and adventure alongside steady as she goes Mable and whip it like you own it Sally. We are the likes of Mable and Sally and these are just a few of our adventures. Email me at kristinnella@gmail.com
